The rules for using Video Hits TV, including accounts, acceptable use, and limitations.

Video Hits TV is operated by Mighty Web Design, a sole proprietorship based in Saskatchewan, Canada (“Video Hits TV”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Video Hits TV website at videohitstv.com and any related features (the “Service”). By using the Service or creating an account, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
Plain English: You must be at least 13 to use Video Hits TV.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Video Hits TV. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.
By creating an account, you represent that you meet these age requirements.
2. Description of the Service
Plain English: A free 80s music video jukebox. We don't host the videos — we play YouTube embeds.
Video Hits TV is a free, ad-free music video jukebox focused on the 1980s. The Service curates a catalogue of 80s music videos and plays them through YouTube embedded players.
We do not:
- Host or distribute the underlying video files
- Sell music, videos, or merchandise
- Guarantee that any particular video remains available
- Control the third-party platforms (such as YouTube) that deliver the videos
When a video is unavailable, blocked in your region, or removed at the source, the player will skip past it.
3. Accounts
Plain English: Accounts are optional. If you sign in, keep your login secure.
You can watch Video Hits TV without an account. An account (managed through our authentication provider, Clerk) is only required for personal features such as favourites, wishlists, lyrics access, flag reports, and unavailable-video persistence.
You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for any activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your contact details up to date.
4. Free Service
Plain English: Video Hits TV is free. We don't charge users.
The Service is provided free of charge. We do not currently offer paid plans, and we do not sell access to the catalogue. If we ever introduce paid features in the future, they will be clearly labelled and optional, and these Terms will be updated accordingly.
5. Acceptable Use
Plain English: No scraping, no reselling, no bots, no abuse.
You may not:
- Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service
- Reverse engineer or attempt to derive source code
- Use bots, automation, or headless tooling against the Service
- Resell, redistribute, or rebrand the Service or its content
- Submit false flag reports or otherwise abuse moderation features
- Share accounts in a way that allows multiple people to bypass any limits
- Interfere with the Service or attempt to access data that does not belong to you
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
6. User Contributions
Plain English: When you flag a video or save a favourite, we may act on that information.
When you flag a video as broken, geo-blocked, or otherwise incorrect, and when you save items to your wishlist or mark videos as unavailable, you give us permission to store and use that information to improve the Service, including curating the catalogue and improving recommendations.
7. Third-Party Content & Data
Plain English: Videos, lyrics, and metadata come from third parties. We can't guarantee accuracy.
The Service incorporates content and data from third parties, including YouTube (video playback), Spotify, Last.fm, Genius, lrclib, Wikipedia, Deezer, and iTunes (artwork, lyrics, and metadata). We do not control these third parties and we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of their content.
Use of embedded YouTube content is subject to YouTube’s Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
8. Intellectual Property
Plain English: Our code and brand belong to us. The music videos belong to their rights holders.
The Video Hits TV software, branding, design, copy, and the curation logic are owned by Mighty Web Design. The music videos themselves and all underlying recordings, compositions, and artwork are the property of their respective rights holders. We display them via official embeds — we do not claim ownership and we do not relicense them.
9. Copyright Complaints (DMCA)
Plain English: Rights holders: email us and we'll remove the embed promptly.
If you believe your copyrighted work is being displayed on Video Hits TV without authorization, please contact us at the email below with:
- Identification of the work and the page where it appears
- Your contact information
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on their behalf
Because we use YouTube embeds rather than hosted files, takedown requests are often more effective when submitted directly to YouTube, but we will remove the affected embed from our catalogue on receipt of a valid request.
10. Termination
Plain English: We can suspend or close abusive accounts.
We may suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion for violations of these Terms, misuse of the Service, or to protect the Service or other users.
11. Data Deletion
Plain English: You can delete your account anytime. See the Privacy Policy for details.
You may delete your account at any time. Personal data is removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, except where retention is required by law.
12. Service Modifications
Plain English: Features can change without notice.
We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We may also suspend or discontinue all or part of the Service without liability.
13. Beta / Early Access
Plain English: Video Hits TV is actively evolving. Treat it as a work in progress.
The Service is actively under development and is provided as-is. We make no guarantees about uptime, catalogue completeness, data accuracy, or feature availability. Features may be added, changed, or removed without notice. These limitations supplement, and do not replace, the disclaimers and limitations of liability below.
14. Disclaimer of Warranties
Plain English: The Service is provided as-is.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or availability.
15. Limitation of Liability
Plain English: Because the Service is free, our total liability is capped at C$50.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed fifty Canadian dollars (C$50). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or lost goodwill.
16. Governing Law
Plain English: Saskatchewan law applies.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Saskatchewan and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Saskatchewan.
17. Changes to These Terms
Plain English: We may update these Terms. Continued use means you accept them.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after a revision means you accept the updated Terms.
